The Seasons of Emma

The Seasons of Emma is a book about a little girl who has special needs. Emma was born with polio and club feet. We hope that her adventures will be an inspiration to all children and individuals with special needs.
The Seasons of Emma is the first in a series of books that will follow Emma, her friends and family, as she grows, experiences life, and overcomes the challenges faced by children with disabilities. Through her adventures, you will see that her abilities are far greater than her disability.
Although Emma is a fictional character, the author and creator, Darren Dione Aquino, has based the stories on his actual life. Darren is disabled and continues to face the challenges of his disabilities, but he does so by assisting others. He is the CEO and founder of Advocates for Disabled Americans, Veterans, Police, Firemen, and Families, a nonprofit that provides advocacy to the disabled nationwide.
As you read The Seasons of Emma and the stories to follow to your children, we hope that they will touch your heart and enhance your family's awareness of the victories, the strengths, the challenges, and the needs of the disabled.
