The Burgher of Virtual Eden

Set in contemporary Amsterdam, The Burgher of Virtual Eden is a novel in the tradition of stirring sci fi classics, a unique satire about the consequences of religious intolerance in any psycho sexual culture seeking to dominate human lives. Narrated by its young poet/protagonist, J.T. Itt (aka Lucius Amaranthus) becomes a defector from the U.S. Army during the Iraq War era. He falls under the spell of a cyber cult headed by a strange personage, the Burgher, who professes keen dislike of the immigrant Muslim population and its ongoing friction with the Dutch natives. The Burgher's war with the local Imam fuels somatic mind experiments attempting to transform his subjects into altered beings aiding his cause. Or so it seems, until J.T. learns more and becomes entangled in a nexus where truth battles with lies-or just plain illusion?
