GATEWAY: THE SHAULA INTERVENTION

Anthropologist Susan Merniehm and Kiel Tarragot, criminal investigator with the Investigator of the Coalition of Planets have been having an on again - off again relationship for years. They are thrown together when an explosion occurs at a remote mining site: Susan, to investigate alien artifacts and Kiel to investigate the accident. An officer of a mining company confounds Kiel's inquiry with an effort to sidestep questions about his illegal activities. The discovery of a fantastic apparatus, the Gateway, sends Susan and Kiel on an amazing adventure into the far reaches of the galaxy.
