If you can blame anyone, blame the spinster who started it all. She had a dream. She literally wanted to move a mountain on the other side of the river in this rural town of West Virginia. That would give this county a dam to make electricity, plus over one hundred acres of flat land that was serviced by a state highway. She gave the dream to a boy in high school, and after his military service, he managed to buy an old railroad yard that was perfect for the development of the scrap yard. A couple of old sheds and old office building in a very old stone wall almost Medieval in its appearance.
A few years after their son was born, the wife tragically passed away. Struggling to be a good father, he asked his old friend and his wife, John and Carol Peterson, to babysit the boy, while he worked the long hours at the salvage yard. A year after his wife's passing, he had a profound personality change. Although he was good-mannered and thoughtful, he became exuberantly joyful, and it was evident to all.
However, he was extremely secretive about his life. Although his scrapyard seemed to have a normal amount of business, it became obvious to his lawyers that his wealth exceeded their expectations of a prosperous junkyard. Being a cautious man, he made a will out for his son Remington. He would inherit everything in case of some unforeseen tragedy. He also had the wisdom and wealth to keep the corporation going. The lawyers were to pay all the taxes for twenty-five years and the upkeep of the property.
Unfortunately, the unthinkable happened. He disappeared. No one even had a clue what happened to him. John and Carol adopted his son Remington despite the racial differences. This story comes in some twenty-years later, when Remington comes home from the army.
Will Remington find out how his father acquired his wealth? Why did his father disappear? What mysteries surrounds this seemingly simple scrapyard?
If McFarnia is light years away, what do centaurs or other creatures have to do with a scrap yard on planet Earth?
