The Priest & The Prince: Part 22: Truth or Myth

Ryker is beginning to realize that there is a possibility out of the mess they now all find themselves in, and that it through the greed exhibited by the Inspector that got them into the jail they now find themselves in. Ryker comes up with a proposal, speaking in a way designed to trigger the greed inherent in his captor's heart. The initial approach backfired badly, and the Inspector accuses Ryker of trying to bride a French governmental official. As part of the ruse, Ryker makes a startling admission to the Inspector.

A little fissure in the armor has come to view, and Ryker intends to use all of his intellectual process, along with his amazing intuitive interaction with Tiara, to fashion their means of escape. His offer to the Inspector is a mix of both fact and fiction, but it's the bait, and Inspector LeGrand has grasped it.

Arrangements are made with LeGrand as the two parties seek to find accommodation, and Ryker and Tiara seek to win their release. LeGrand is also playing a careful game as well, beholden as he is to his handler and master Sasha. Ryker's Navy SEALs training once again come into play.

High-stakes poker is the name of the game, and Ryker and Tiara have to be strong, watchful, and wary. After all, they are in a French jail, separated. The mighty Hoppy has been drugged by the French authorities, incapacitating his amazing Djinn powers. As Ryker tells Tiara, they hold the money, and for the moment at least, that's the equivalent of holding all four Aces in the deck. A visit is arranged with banker-extraordinaire Mr. Greggoire, to pull the last of the elaborate strings together for the transfer to buy back their freedom.
