The Dead Stay Dumb

"The Dead Stay Dumb" is the story of Dillon, who, once his boss meets his end, goes underground to turn up later in small-town where he fixes boxing matches while dreaming to set up his own gang. A year later, he becomes a Kansas City boss, with his own live-in mistress. Cold-blooded and ambitious, he keeps committing murders and is forced to take refuge in a remote farmhouse where he just can't stay out of trouble. This is an old-style gangster novel, the story of a ruthless, inhuman killer told with the stark, trademark realism of Chase writing.
