In the 4th collection of character short stories, Chow created a mini cookbook with more than 2-dozen of his favorite recipes from his days in the prairies of Texas and New Mexico. It was more a sampling than a full cookbook.
Now, Chow brings you 63 new recipes in this stand alone volume. There are still a number from his ranch cook days, but also some he has developed since coming to Shopton to work for the Swifts as their personal chef.
Recipes are divided into 5 main categories:
Main Coursed
Breakfast Dishes
Salads and Sides
Non-Meat Recipes
Sweet Stuff
For people who cannot find roadrunner or quail in their supermarket, he also provides some possible substitutes you will be able to find.
The Publisher wants us to tell you that the book is written to mimic Chow's western way of saying things so be prepared for a lot of, "o'" rather than "of" and "ever'thing" rather than "everything." Just so you know.
He also wants you to forgive formatting issues. When printed in book form, all the ingredients items span the page and line up. In ebook format, this sort of goes out the window!
