Micah is an aspiring writer with a penchant for rough sex. When he can't sustain his girl, Yadira, and her lavish taste, she goes on a sex strike. So to get back into her good graces he summons his cousin, Sean, to execute a plan to rob two drug dealers, that he hope would garner him enough to buy the Louboutin' heels she's been hounding him for. But what was supposed to be a routine stick up turned out to be deadly since Sean had an ulterior motive. Regretting ever planting the seed, Micah feared the worst, questioning if it was all even worth it. His fears would soon come true when drama erupted on a dark, lonely street, in the roughest section of Brooklyn.
Unfortunately, this was what his life had become. It was a life that his grandmother, after she took him in, had never intended; if she ever found out what he was really into she would meet an early grave. But being young, gifted, and black, Micah couldn't reconcile what he was, and what he was portraying himself to be. With a love of literature and a weakness for pretty girls with curves yanking him in opposite directions, he struggles to prioritize, with curves usually winning out. No words from his grandmother, her friend Harold, or his Uncle Clyde, who calls him, "a sleeping fool," had any impact. He was broken and torn, allowing his neglectful past to dictate how he moved. But if he doesn't shape up quick it might be too late to uncover his potential. "Too many bright minds have fallen victim to the system, don't be another," Harold warned. Will Micah ever wake up? Or will materialism, money, and the sensuality of a woman induced a coma, resulting in him either getting locked up, or worst, dead in the ground?
