The Madonna of Dunkirk

An elderly woman on the east coast of England fancies that if she sits on a specific pew in the ruins of her old church, she can speak to and guide the steps of the soldiers stranded on the beach at Dunkirk. With a touch of Paul Gallico's Snow Goose, a plentiful helping of the supernatural is added, and a village desperately working to bring the poor woman to her senses.
