The Loves of Billy Wong

The Loves of Billy Wong is inspired by the true story of a Chinese man and his family who were placed on display at P.T. Barnum s American Museum like Sideshow freaks just prior to the American Civil War. The Chinese man, Billy Wong, falls in love with a beautiful white girl who is the daughter of a famous abolitionisht. Like the black people of that era, the Chises faced great prejudice. Billy Wong s love for an upper-class white girl only intensifies the prejudice and challenges he must endure. Forced to join the Union Army, Billy heroically fights many battles, big and small, and eventually earnes the Medal of Jonor. Builing other relationships while facing tragedy and constant danger, will Billy Wong Survive?
