The Portico Convention is a new poetic form designed by G.F. Zaimis. Its shape employs a multi-disciplinary approach of integrating language with architecture while working with Comparative Literature and Contemporary Modernisms. The Portico incorporates Vitruvian principles and Golden Ratio ideologies. The new form, similar to an Echo archetype, is read both horizontally and vertically. Its name is appropriated from the portico of the caryatids belonging to the Erechtheion Temple located at the Acropolis. In theory and practice, the new form uses architecture as a connective matrix to integrate the arts and the sciences.
