6 TOM SWIFT: Galactic Ambassador

Book six in the New TOM SWIFT Invention Adventures sees the inventor facing a challenge that has not been solved in centuries. The "space friends" he and his father have been in communications with for more that two years have sadly informed him their mission into our solar system is being cancelled. Their rulers have deemed it to be a failure as they have not been successful at visiting the surface of out planet and only remain in an orbiting outpost around Mars.

Tom feels very bad for them; is sounds as if they will face punishment for their failure. He sets out to try to convince their rulers to give him some time to concentrate on their problems. But, given a very brief respite he must discover a way to safely transport them to the surface and from that point to keep them from being killed by whatever it was that ruined an expedition hundreds of years earlier.

Once he believes he has a way to transport them, acts of sabotage and political shenanigans make another failure a possibility.
