MR. PINKERTON HAS THE CLUE

Mr. Evan Pinkerton, a mild mannered, timid Welshman opts to escape the noise and smells of London by taking the healing waters of Bath. To his great disappointment a murder is committed in the very hotel in which he's staying. The local police call in Pinkerton's friend and former lodger J. Humphrey Bull, C.I.D. who isn't surprised to find Pinkerton up to his ears in the investigation. While the official investigators are baffled when the single best candidate for the crime is shown that he could not possibly have strangled the old lady, Pinkerton unknowingly has the clue to explain all. The resolution to the dilemma is revealed to him as he sweats out a cold in one of the local spas. The story takes twists and turns until the last surprising chapter.
