Symbol & Stone

Ten years after the September 11th attacks, a man driven by hatred begins killing religious leaders and their families leaving only runes and a symbol as his calling card.
Nick Morrissey, a detective in the Baltimore Police Department, realizes he needs help to solve the case and contacts the one man for whom symbols and stone are read as easily as a comic strip, a man who has no reason to want to help anyone in the United States do to the mistreatment of his people by a government of the past: The Master of the Stone Mason's Guild, Jackson Stonebreaker.
Stonebreaker, receiving Morrissey's request for help and understanding what the pictures Morrissey sent him to look at mean realize he cannot help the officer from Mason's Hall and decides that it is time the Guild's Honor is once again put above everything else, including its anger at being driven out the U.S. a century ago for refusing to give up who they were or to give money to those who refused to work.
Arriving in Baltimore, Stonebreaker meets Morrissey and finds himself helping the detective chase the killer with knowledge only the Guild has and authority that only belongs to the Master of Stone as well as facing the price of the Guilds leaving. Discovering the killer is of a Guild Line, Stonebreaker realizes only he can stop this monster.
When another person is murdered, Stonebreaker challenges the Killer as the Master of the Guild the killer seeks to join and forces a confrontation with a man whose hatreds are only understood with knowledge of Symbol and Stone
