The heavens will open one day to shower blood upon the earth. Only then will mankind truly understand his arrogance and that peaceful times have been vanquished from his days.

In rural New York in the early 1990's, the frayed Stone family tapestry is on the verge of completely unraveling. Todd Stone is a frail schoolboy with an honest, bright soul, albeit a soul struggling with the devastating neglect of his father, Jake. Jake is a pathetic excuse of a man, cheating his son out of love, cheating his wife out of their vows and abusive to both. The sudden death of a family member reveals a dark revelation about the family tree and also divulges a hidden, dark inheritance.
At the same time, the boy and his father suffer an onslaught of horrifying nightmares haunted by two souls from opposite ends of eternity. In the father's dreams, a depraved soul commands Jake to find the inheritance and pave a path to oppressing times. The boy's dreams are haunted by a schoolgirl that was murdered in 1943. Her soul desperately begs Todd to locate and keep the inheritance from his father's hands. She warns Todd that if he fails, peaceful times will catapult into moral decay. In this novel, son is pitted against father on a very uneven playing field. Todd must dig deep through layers of fear and self-doubt to find courage and retain harmonious times. Both journeys are filled with hope, love, pain and loss, yet whose hands will define the aura of a future?
