Dead End

Do you know you're dead when you're dead? Do you know you're alive, when you're actually dead? Sometime, these can be confusing questions. What if you are in a retro-state, and you think you're alive, and you could very well be? Could, in your retro-state, realize that what you will eventually do, you will not do, if the situation stays the same? If so, would you consider not performing the crime, and avoid the situation altogether, and live, until you die of natural causes? Interesting? Would it be better to snap back in time, to in time, change your mind?
