01 The Speedboat Sisters In a Race

Written in the style of many books for girls published in the early part of teh 20th century, The Speedboat Girls is a series meant to honor those books written to enthuse and excite young minds. This new series takes place shortly after the Great Depression and before any hint of what would become World War II.

May I present to you, then, the Speedboat Sisters-- Dee, Winnie and Meg--the identical triplets of Schroon Lake, New York. With a fast speedboat left to their care by an older sibling, the girls ply the waters of many of the large lakes in their district, often finding themselves involved in intrigue and excitement.

These girls have a true knack for finding dangerous situations, and then happily extricating themselves from them all the while solving whatever mysteries they encounter.

Their first adventure sees them entering a race around the lake against many of the other local boat owners. Nearly everybody wishes to have a clean race, but a young man seems intent on ruining their chances by sabotaging their boat.

Even when the race starts, they have troubles along the way and discover they are all part of a great mystery from years gone by.

This is book 1 in what will eventually be a 4 or 5 book series.
