"The CliffsNotes for cannabis!" -- Bill Spencer, Washington State Dispensary Owner

"Fantastic! This book changed how my family felt about my using medical marijuana to treat rheumatoid arthritis." -- Susan Mitchell, California Patient.

In 2013 J.A. Parker's career as a copywriter and marketing professional took an unexpected turn when the search engine optimization and online marketing company she worked for assigned her a new client -- a leading innovator of technologies and equipment for legal cannabis cultivation and processing worldwide. Through working with the client and research, J.A. realized that everything she knew about cannabis was false.

Inspired, J.A. Parker started writing this book, which includes links to fascinating videos about cannabis filmed by U.S. neurosurgeon and journalist Dr. Sanjay Gupta, and National Geographic. This book's sole objective is to help the reader understand what cannabis is, its effects and how it is used. It is written for individuals interested in learning the truth about cannabis, whether you are the parent of a child suffering from a seizure disorder contemplating its medical use, a curious bystander, or someone entering the legal cannabis industry. It presents cannabis basics, like the four prominent species of cannabis, what are terpenes, what are cannabinoids, what is tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), what is CBD-rich oil, the difference between sativa and indica, and much more -- all with footnotes and links to reports by the U.S. National Library of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health; U.S. Health and Human Services; the National Center for Biotechnology Information; The California Pacific Medical Center and other well-respected sources. It also explores medical cannabis use in children, and why adults choose to use marijuana for medicinal purposes or recreation despite it being illegal in most U.S. states.

The purpose of this book is a very simple and direct one. It makes no pretense to show extraordinary scholarship or literary excellence. It is simply a practical educating manual. J.A. Parker's aim is to present the facts in a straight-forward, logical and understandable manner so that the layman may learn (and hopefully pass the knowledge to others) about this miraculous and defamed plant.
