THE MAN FROM SCOTLAND YARD

C.I.D. Inspector J. Humphrey Bull of Scotland Yard receives an anonymous note reporting that a mother and three little ones are buried in a backyard. When the soil is unearthed, a box with a mother cat and three kittens are discovered. In the same neighborhood, Mr. Arthurington reports that upon entering his house when he returned from an extended out of town visit finds a dead body in his home. At first, no one seems to know the identify of the deceased. Bull does the unthinkable; he enlists his former landlord to assist in the investigation. Red herrings abound, and the principals seem to have the means, motive and opportunity to have committed the crime. Mr. Evan Pinkerton, a rabbity, non-descript Welshman, eventually discovers the clues that lead Inspector Bull to identify the murderer.
