Technology has made our life so much better and easier. However, the untutored use of technology can cause a lot of fragmentation for individuals. Marshall McLuhan predicted the end of the linear mind because of the prevalence of computers many decades ago. But I don't think he predicted that it would happen so quickly and with so much acquiescence on our part. It would seem that human beings have become unreflective cogs in a forever moving system. Our acquiescence to this unreflective, scattered state of mind is especially perplexing and worrisome to psychologists and philosophers alike.
