Roxie and Cal grew up in the same small town. She was from the wrong side of the tracks and ended up as a waitress at the Bluebird Diner. Cal, grew up on his family's farm. He moved to town when he became a lawyer and a politician on the side. A bachelor, he often takes his meals at the Diner, and all the waitresses talk about him when they think he isn't looking.
