Dancing with the Neighbors...caught celebrating Life

Dancing with the Neighbors... is a compilation of 71 short stories that were written over a period of time. Dancing is a metaphor for life, a metaphor about relationships. In the dance with neighbors, some unexpected and even unlikely dance partners were discovered. As the dance progressed, new steps and more creative choreography enriched my life. Through these relationships, paths were cleared to experience the rich diversity of my neighbors. A variety of new friends have enhanced my life--some with PhDs on their walls and others with callouses on their hands. When we move beyond our particular religious, political and cultural semantics, so-called differences lose their glimmer and the walls of division tend to crumble. Though my faith is evident in the stories, there are no altar calls. My intention is not conversion but conversation. I hope to encourage us to set aside our preconceived notions and start a dialogue with neighbors, especially those who are unlike us, with the intent of discovering the treasure contained within them.
