While studying at University of Florida, budding artist Kelly is swept into a marriage with charismatic but womanizing B.J. Jowett. After her husband's devastating rodeo accident, she is unable to pursue her career. Guilt over their argument prior to his fateful ride binds her to him at the expense of her own fulfillment--until she meets Gordon. Could she open herself to the possibility of finding love again?

Gordon McCabe returns to his hometown of Calusa, Florida to set up his chiropractic practice. A chance meeting at a friend's party tosses them together. Her girl-next-door appearance fascinates him and he's intrigued by this giving woman who married a man with a horrible reputation. Soon, he's wondering how he can convince Kelly they could have a life together.
