Katie Carlson just wants to be a regular girl, get good grades in college, have fun with her friends and enjoy her life. But Professor Kincaid has it in for her. It's not just that his class is hard, but Katie's sure the old guy gets a fiendish delight from seeing her fail. It seems that all her teachers do.

Katie just wants some time to think. She wants to take a break from the mess that has become her studies, especially Kincaid's class. She knows a rich kid, Greg, who's kind of an awkward puppy, but he has a fast Bentley and he loves to show off. There's a party out at the lake, and it is just the thing she needs to get away. Maybe there's still time enough to make good on the promise she made to her rich father. She begs him for just one more chance, and he loves her so much that he gives in like he always does. But there is just one condition. Katie agrees to anything he wants because she knows that, when it comes to her father, there's always one more chance. The deal is she either does well in school and gets good grades, or she has to enroll in Crowne Pointe Academy, a place that is known for having firm rules and strict discipline.
