A few decades ago a lot of people stopped going to the older people for advice on raising their children. Education took the place of experience and common sense. Anytime something went wrong with a child it was referred to the professional, who make some comments and referred the child and parent/parents to another professional who did the same thing. A lot of these professionals had a degree but no experience in raising a child and certainly no common sense. They were learning from the professionals who many times didn't have any children. We all have someone we know who can tell us how to raise our children, who has never had any children. We usually just shrug it off and pay no attention to them. So why did society think a degree without experience and common sense was enough? Makes no sense does it?
When children were allowed to be raised by their parents and parents listened to others with experience, common sense, empathy, compassion and a sense of humor, responsible adults were the result. Since the professional took over it has resulted in irresponsible children, children being shoot in school. A complete breakdown of the family.
I believe that if I know something is wrong and I don't speak up then I'm just as guilty as the person doing it. It's time to speak up and assist families not punish them. It's time to question the professionals and not give them so much power.
