Father Matthew the Poor, Abouna Matta El Meskeen, explains in this book the Christian Faith as of two divisions:

The first division: it is the dogmatic, theological and general church-creed faith that is expressed by St Paul the apostle:
"Till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ" (Eph 4:13).

These are the implicit manifestations expressed by Christ concerning Himself and His relationship with the Father, His abilities and His power. This is the totality of what is mentioned in the four Gospels about God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, the most Holy Trinity, equal and One. This is in addition to the totality of what is based in the Church theology from the world conferences that are acknowledged. This is what was handed to the Church by the church-like traditions set by the official fathers and is acknowledged by the church, and abides therein.

The second division: This is the personal faith expressed by the believer in his special relationship with the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. It also shows to what extent he relies on God and Christ, and the action of the Spirit in his thoughts, behavior and words, as well as the extent of his witnessing to Christ before others through his work, his attitude and his sayings.
It has been agreed on the fact that the Christian faith for the believer is measured by the following:

Firstly: The spiritual mistakes, and obvious obstacles and the backsliding into sin and offences whether outspokenly or secretively.
Secondly: To what extent the relationship is between the believer and the church.
Thirdly: The measurement of faith which reveals the reactions of the human nature in the believer.
Fourthly: To what extent the reactions of the Christian believer are towards hatred, anger, fear and the terror of sickness, darkness, death and condemnation.
Fifthly: To what extent his assurance of salvation is. Consequently, cherishing the godly care and relying on God's guidance, and his joy with the good portion prepared for him, also his eagerness to be with Christ here and in heaven.
Sixthly: The amount of love overflowing from the Christian believer's heart to all whom he sees and comes to know. He disregards obstacles, persecution and resistance. Together with love, he is modest, tolerant, patient, and believes others, and has the simplicity of children.
Seventhly: The attitude of man regarding ordeals, offences, persecution, scorn, insults, false accusations and various sufferings. Also the tolerance of sickness with which he is blighted, the deformities, the disabilities, and not to return evil for evil or to threaten and swear at.
Eighthly: The goal and the way. You choose the goal, and Christ defines the way that leads to the goal you desire.

Abouna Matta devoted this article to expose a glimpse of the personal faith, its rights and its duties. Without going into too many details, and too much delving in studies, he presented what an article could possibly offer.
