A nifty book about my mother and the Kennedys. It tells the truth about the Kennedys and their mother, Rose, and how she taught them about truth and beauty and charity and love, which is the basis of the true heart of the Kennedy clan. Vera Durning, my mother, went to school with a couple of the Kennedy girls, Patricia and Joan, and especially with Patricia Skakel, who was BFF with "America's Own Vera" Dillon. They were classmates at Maplehurst, Convent of the Sacred Heart in the Bronx, Class of 1942, and Manhattanville College, Harlem, Class of 1945 (my mother was a "much admired accelerate") and Pat Skakel was the President of her 1946 Class. Rose Kennedy, herself, had attended Manhattanville where Mother Dammann taught "Truth," so she made her daughters go there, too. This book dispels the notion that those schools were drab and dreary, in fact they were full of fun, fun, fun, not to mention "The Flat Foot Foo Foo" dance which they invented. Read the book! Also included is Vera's father-in-law's famous fling with Joseph P. Kennedy and Greta Garbo-- which is the basis of my book on NOOK, "GRETA GARBO ON BOWLING GREEN."
