I love poetry. Poetry has been a part of my life since I was a little school girl. I feel it is a good way to express your feelings with spunk. My goal is to bring encouragement while uplifting and entertaining the hearts of many. I try to do this through the many topics I cover with the hope of possibly broadening someone's outlook.
Poetry gives an opportunity to reveal your talents and experiences. To bring life to words through the minds of the reader is my enjoyment. For me, poetry is just like art; beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You can ask many people what did they get from a poem and each will grasp onto their own experience. One could be overjoyed while another may be saddened. It all depends on the individual's life experience.
Also, with poetry, you have to have an ear to hear the rhythm of the flow of words. You have to be crafty so you can capture your audience's attention. Trying to capture the interest of various age groups can be a task. But I use my life as well as family and friends as a source for my material. It is like being an artisan baker, you put things together until you find out what works. You knead, blend, and whip until you find the process that fits.
As a writer, I also enjoy writing stories and essays. In my entrepreneurial endeavors, I would eventually like to do greeting cards as well. Using my real life to enlighten, uplift and inspire others is a wonderful feeling. To be able to use your talents and gifts in an effortless way to expose your innermost feelings is priceless. I am looking forward to the journey ahead. Please enjoy my book.
