The tragedy of Julius Caesar has been told countless times, but never like this. Starting with the weeks leading up the assassination, this novel tells a present-tense story of the assassination, aftermath, and fall of the Roman Empire. Killing Caesar navigates the fall of a once prosperous empire from numerous points of view, from the conspiring senators, to Caesar's most loyal companions, to ordinary Roman citizens, to Caesar himself. Some felt that Caesar was doing what was best for the greater good. Others felt that his actions went against the very fabric of what made the empire great in the first place. The latter group reached a decision that changed the history of the world. While the story stems from real-life events, Killing Caesar is dramatized to the point where it's a thriller fiction novel.
