I penned this literary gem back in the 60s (in truth, I pecked it out on an aging Smith Carona manual typewriter), not long after my wife Janet and I had been blessed with the fourth and last of our exceptional daughters. Since then, said daughters have extended our family with four tolerable sons-in-law, eight reasonably acceptable grandchildren, and thus far nine delightful great-grandchildren.
Our youngest child, Donna Marie Schantz, is responsible for resurrecting my dusty original manuscript and causing it to be published. But for Donna, aka RLK (Rotten Little Kid), you and the rest of the reading world would have never known about the trouble that came to Hornville!
