This book focuses on the accounts of Revolutionary Russia given by Raymond Robins and Frank Keddie as oral evidence to the Bolshevik propaganda Hearings before a subcommittee of the Committee on the judiciary, United States Senate in 1919.
The records of both men are informed by their experiences of Russia when, in Robins' case, he worked as Major and later commander of the American Red Cross mission in Russia. Keddie, on the other hand, was a relief worker with the Society of Friends.
In this, the centenary year of the Russian Revolution, both accounts are published together, in the hope that the first-hand experience of what really happened, will prove more informative than the presentation of opinion as history.
