SUMMER OF LOVE

Summer of Love is really two stories. It is a dark noir that takes place 50 years ago in the Haight Ashbury District of San Francisco during that wild and crazy Summer of Love. The story of a country boy who comes home from a tour in Vietnam to Tennessee only to be told by his family that his 15 year old sister has run away with a hippy to the Haight Ashbury and would he please go and fetch her. The journey of a young conservative country boy who meets and falls in love with a beautiful hippy girl by the name of Moonbeam while looking for his sister captures perfectly that special summer. The author Ralph Griffith was a 15 year old run-a-way that summer and lived in the Haight. It is not a memoir, but he wanted to record for posterity the events of that summer and to entertain the reader along the way.
