***New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Patrice Wilton***
First came A HEAVENLY CHRISTMAS and now we have the riveting sequel, SOMEONE TO LOVE. This book is light on suspense and heavy on romance, and a perfect read anytime of the year!
Allison Cornwall was forced to leave her hometown in Connecticut and live life on the run from an ex-boyfriend turned stalker. She changed her name and hunkered down in Heaven, PA. The small, idyllic town was-- a safe haven where no one could find her. And yet, after a year and a half of peace, he did. Police Chief Ian Brown is determined to keep crime out of Heaven. When Ally fears for her life, he's there to protect. Recently divorced, he's not looking for love, but this innocent young woman touches his heart. Can they put their pasts behind them and open themselves to the miracle of Christmas--learning once again to trust and to love?
5 STAR REVIEWS
The author is new to me and I love her work! It has all the usual parts of a romance novel, the guy, the girl, their challenges and then the HEA. There are several ways the story COULD go and you aren't really sure which path it will take. It's labeled a holiday story but it really doesn't center around the holidays all that much and for that, I am grateful. Most of those are way too predictable. In this book, you never know for sure just what is going to happen, only that you expect it to get resolved. A little mystery, a little love, a few fights, and lots of the good stuff!
The story begins with a dead skunk dropped on her doorstep. Allison Holmes has been running from a stalker for years and really likes Heaven, Pennsylvania where she is currently working in a restaurant. It has not been violent situation but she's still scared to put down roots and then have her security torn away if her ex-boyfriend finds her.
Ian Brown is the local chief of police who came to the little town after his partner was killed in an undercover operation. He's divorced and not looking for any long term thing with a woman. Yet he can't help but want to protect Ally from whoever is scaring her. He knows that he's too old for her and when things settle down, she deserves to enjoy her life and move on. Neither one really knows what love is or how to talk to each other.
They just keep pushing each other away - but then when they come together, it's hotter than hot!
I enjoyed the twists and turns in the story that make it unique and unpredictable. Patrice is on my list of authors to read now! ~ by Dfernow
5 STAR REVIEW
Patrice Wilton does it again! This book is great! You get humor, steamy romance, and a little suspense. She has a way of grabbing your attention and the rest of the world just fades away.
"Someone to Love" by Patrice Wilton is book number two in the " Heavenly Christmas" series. The book can be read as a standalone. This is Allison Cornwall (Ally) and Ian Brown's story.
I love how the author incorporated suspense, a steamy romance with humor. There were moments that I laughed so hard that my husband wondered about me. You will have to read it. Enjoyed! ~by BookSnuggle
