Avery Jerome is at his wit's end. He was hired to help the men of the Compound to talk and come to terms with what had been done to them. The men had been stubborn in keeping their feelings and words to themselves. Avery is fed up and he turns in his resignation.

Axel is frustrated; his mate is safe inside the Compound but Avery's run away and he will stop at nothing to go after his mate and bring him back.
