What helped me to understand my own suffering was to understand how Jesus Christ Himself suffered. Nobody likes to suffer. Suffering is painful. But in order to know the power of Jesus' resurrection, we must know the power of His suffering. No matter whether you are a saint or a sinner you are going to suffer. If you are suffering as a slave to sin you are suffering for doing what is wrong in the sight of God. If you're suffering as a slave to righteousness, you are suffering for doing what is right in the sight of God.
