"The sometimes-harsh realities of life can bring forth an ugly truth. Living in an microwave ready era of get it fast and get it now; while keep two toes planted to the ground; lets just say that those who have been around know that some things never die.
Being a poet is like being this analytical commentator; absorbing every event be it through tragedy; the instability of the current political landscape; dwindling job security; the great divide between races along with many other uncertainties that most people face in a world of 'Survival of the fit'.
I come from an era of Hip-hop and artistry in general where we did not shy away from those uncomfortable discussions; we attacked them head on unapologetically.
The best description for what is now my 17 title to date; this is 'in your face', 'uncompromising truths' speaking from experiences.
This speaks to the core of the plight in the African American community, spoken from a Black man's prospective, without holding anything back."
