On a beautiful island, surrounded by a large family, Rachel Everchild has a tough life. From her earliest memories, she's competed for attention, food, safety, and love. It's been a sad, lonely life for Rachel, and to escape her mother's uncontrollable anger and vindictive actions, she has spent most of her free time sitting on a rock in the river next to her home talking to God. He's the only one besides her father she can talk to, and even her father is often a victim in their home.
When her father dies suddenly, the only thing that offers comfort is Rachel's firm belief that her father loved her unconditionally and is watching over her, even now.
