Synopsis

Four decades and four years elapsed from author C.A. Collins departure from Auckland with her mechanical engineer father and family bound for the newly christened "50th" state of Hawai'i and returning to her native New Zealand.    She shares some of the adventures, heartaches and provides the prospective of an immigrant who arrived in the pre-1965 era.  Collins offers compelling evidence why restoring some the US immigration protocols that prevailed when her family arrived into America's newest state in 1960; will underpin the restoration of a beleaguered manufacturing industry.  At the closing of 2017 -- small manufacturers are more optimistic than they have been in decades on the future economic health of both their businesses and the United States -- applauding the ravishing of oppressive regulations.
Innovation, engineering and manufacturing is threaded through the author's psychological makeup;  but how critical to the health of a nation didn't really hit home until she embarked on a literary journey that span a dozen years.
