This is the story of a journey on the first transcontinental CPR train, in 1886, told by Ellen Spragge, wife of railway civil engineer Arthur Spragge. It includes details of two overland expeditions from Donald to Cranbrook and and to the Glacier Hotel, before resuming the train journey to Port Moody (then the terminus for Vancouver) and on to Vancouver Island. A must for anyone with an interest in the early years of British Columbia after joining the Dominion. This volume is illustrated by a number of contemporary photographs.
