The Bottleneck Event

Tens of thousands of years ago the super volcano, Toba, blanketed the surrounding area with pyroclastic ash and devastation. It caused the depopulation of the human race causing a bottleneck from which less than 5,000 people survived. Now another super volcano threatens the human race. Through the resulting devastation of the new cataclysmic devastation of the United States the government is all but wiped out as well as the law and order of the land. In the face of a new world and way of life two families ban together as they fight for their survival. Each family faces the terrifying new world of violence, hunger and death as they journey through the landscape in search of a new safe haven for themselves and their children. John and Melissa, two ex Marines, do everything in their power to keep their daughter Megan safe. Meanwhile Micheal, a respected geologist, along with his identical brother Efrain try to save as many lives as possible while attempting to save themselves and their families. In the face of danger "flight or fight" sets into the human psyche as human nature takes over and guides people through dangerous situations.
