Gloria's Gifts

Gloria's Gifts is the story of a conscientious young boy whose pet fish gives birth to several groups of babies. The boy must find containers for each group of young fish and move them safely from the bowl to the various containers. The story begins with the suggestion of surprises and ends with what the boy does with the surprises.


The book stands alone as a story, but it also lends itself to teaching a number of subject areas: math, science, spelling, English, and English as Second Language. Pages which are content rich in math, science, and ESL are indicated with the color-coded icons near the page number. A website provides a number of ideas for use of the book in teaching those three subjects.
