Hybrid super-soldier Atticus is terrified of the Horatius Group returning and enslaving his people. With the monstrous Glycons roaming outside the town that was supposed to be their refuge, he's convinced their true enemy is on their way to snatch their freedom. He doesn't understand why the hybrids don't flee the area.

Still, there's one person that makes him want to stay, Celine, the mayor's assistant and his destined mate. He's kept his distance from the woman, convinced that any relationship will only bring pain to them both.

When her nighttime terrors worsen, she's forced to go to the Azilian cult to seek help. An ambush at the cult's compound brings Atticus and Celine together.

Forced to flee into the forest, the pair will have to grapple with their scorching hot attraction. No matter how much they want each other, it's not a good idea to be distracted when a killer monster is hunting them.
