1867. A time has passed since the conclusion of the American Civil War, yet all the confusion and bitterness still lives throughout the country. To the east, the government is torn to shambles and the industrial revolution is in its infancy under the rule of a misguided administration. On the other side of the wall of the towering peaks, the other side of the Rocky Mountains to the west is an uncharted land where there are few towns far in between surrounded by the vast and endless landscape where tribes have come to respect its dexterity. With outlaws poised at challenging the shallow umbrella of protection provided by the laws of the sheriffs and deputies lacking ability to expand the law beyond the borders of each town, the sheriffs employ those who can go the distance beyond what their paid help can do.
