Fire On The Prairie

A family and community memoir by Ray P. Herriges, youngest of the 12 children of Gerhard & Louisa Herriges. The book is a collection of episodes -- true stories from the life of the Herriges family and the community of Madison, MN. Family adventures are featured within the context of a developing community. Anecdotes from the history of Lac qui Parle County are presented, including the interaction of the native Dakota and white settlers. The book is an "oral history".
