In Afghanistan, a goat is spying for the U. S. Government. The mission is to locate American hostages. As he listens to Persian speaking men, he relays the information (in English) to troops nearby. However, a local woman places a rope around his neck and says he will be delicious. Fortunately, the goat escapes. Beatle is a talking cat that is still receiving training. He resides at a top secret laboratory. Unfortunately, the cats in this program will not follow orders in the field. As each cat fails to achieve its battlefield potential, it is put down and burned in the incinerator. A veterinarian at the lab, Sammy Davis Junior (his fake name), rescues Beatle and takes him to a field in a nearby town. Beatle is seeing the real world for the first time. He is also running out of food. Beatle ventures away from his the field to find sustenance and, if possible, a new home.
