Two hunters heard the voice of a crying child. One of them went to the tall grass and picked up a crying baby. He called the baby Wood-child. Another hunter was annoyed by scream of the baby and told: "At times it sounds like an old man's voice" - he was afraid of a bad spirit that could hide in the small child. They decided to show this boy to a chieftain. The chieftain put a child into his daughter's arms and said: "This will be your little son!" She adopted him. The dwellers of a village celebrated the child's appearance. At the same time among the men waiting by the entrance way, one said in a low voice: "I have heard that bad spirits come as little children into a camp which they mean to destroy."
