Hans Christian Andersen was born in Denmark in 1805. From childhood he wrote some plays for his own puppet-show. Also, he wrote some articles for local newspapers and magazines. Although he was a writer of plays, travelogues, novels and poems, Andersen is best remembered for his fairy tales.
