The Tree

"The Tree" is told in past tense in the third person. The story takes place in Mount Meanalus in Arcadia, Greece. This mountain is considered to be haunted by Greek God Pan.

The story begins with a description of the live grove and a fearful olive tree, looked like a human. Then it goes to a story from centuries ago, recalling famous sculptors Kalos and Musides whose works were well-known all over the world.

One day the Tyrant of Syracuse invited Kalos and Musides to complete the creation of a ¿wonder of nations and a goal of travelers¿. Read this exciting story to find out what happened in ancient Greece.
