The Story Of Shakespeare's Measure For Measure (Abridged)

Measure for Measure is set in Vienna where the good natured but lax ruler, Vincentio is too concerned about his popularity to lay strict laws to curb wrongdoers.  He pretends to go away, thereby appointing Angelo as ruler in his absence.  Angelo proves to be mean and inflexible and only when Vicentio returns is justice restored.
