The gospel of John is a unique eyewitness testimony of the life of Jesus that emphasizes his deity and provides information about him that's not found in the other gospels.

John wrote this account so we would know that we can find true, abundant life in Christ alone: "But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name" (John 20:31).
